Position Summary/Essential Functions
With guidance in a team environment, the Machinist operates production machines based on blueprints, sketches, and route sheets.

• Perform machine operations such as cutting, shaping, deburring, drilling, reaming, and smoothing parts. Make minor adjustments and report issues.
• Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures.
• Set feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
• Perform operations like reaming, tapping, spot-facing, chamfering, countersinking, and counterboring.
• Inspect parts for burrs and damage.
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, and irregularities.
• Inspect parts for conformance to specifications using gages and measuring instruments.
• Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) as required.
• Follow safety rules and maintain a clean work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of machine shop experience or related skills.
• Manual dexterity.
• Ability to read blueprints and work instructions.
• Knowledge of machine shop mathematics.
• Effective communication skills.
• Team player attitude.
