Abacus Solutions Group is sourcing for a 3rd shift Operations Supervisor for our client in Cranbury, NJ. This is a contract-to-hire role with hours Sunday – Thursday, 10:30pm – 7:00am. Overtime and weekends may be required. Pay is $25/hour on contract and $60K - $70K when hired.

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Supervise and coordinate unloading of inbound shipments.
  • Develop, implement, and direct programs to promote a safety culture on site and to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property is a priority.
  • Manpower analytical skills – daily and weekly staff planning and scheduling to ensure adequate resources for each task.
  • Conflict resolutions – responsible for resolving customer shipping and receiving issues.
  • Analyze reports to ensure profitability of customer account.
  • Communicate to the workforce on a daily basis including shift briefs.
  • Manage the workforce within the Warehouse Operation to ensure an efficient operation is maintained.
  • Supervise picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of quality and productivity.
  • Supervise unloading, receiving and put away processes in accordance with customer procedures.
  • Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that all product is properly counted.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage and errors.
  • Promote and manage a strong Continuous Improvement ethos to generate ideas and projects.
  • Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment.
  • Ensure work schedules are correctly implemented and jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly.
  • Navigate the local WMS (SAP) to ensure transactions and processes are completed in line with customer and internal requirements.
  • Maintain product locator system and high inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of space through warehouse consolidation.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area in line with internal standards.
  • Assist in maintaining warehouse security.
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and in accordance with OSHA and MSDS standards.
  • Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Assure inventory integrity and assist in conducting physical inventories.
  • Adhere to the Quality, Safety, Health and Environment Program policies and procedures.
  • Work with onsite customer representatives to ensure a smooth operation and strong customer relations.
  • Deliver a high level of service to customers.
  • Coordinate training for employees and maintain training compliance.

Requirements:

  • Preferred Experience: Two (2) year or four (4) year degree
  • Required Experience: Three (3) years of experience in a management or supervisory role.
  • SAP experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Start-up experience is highly favorable.
  • Ability to develop effective relationships and provide leadership.
  • Experience with material handling equipment.
  • Overtime and weekends may be required.
