Summary

Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, modifies, rebuilds, and performs preventive/predictive maintenance on all production machinery, automated and electrical systems.

3rd Shift hours: 9:30 pm - 7:30 am, Sunday-Thursday

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Exhibits proficiency in performing regular adjustments, calibrations, and repair work in response to department demands during product and non-production hours.
2. Responds to emergency breakdowns and needs in a timely manner following OSHA Lockout/Tagout and Company safety regulations.
3. Addresses management concerns regarding equipment performance, informing production supervisors or initiating necessary modifications or repairs that affect their area of operation now or in the future.
4. Maintains log books, applying math skills during equipment PM stages to calibrate machinery to performance standards.
5. Provides hands-on training and guidance to lower-level mechanics and technicians in servicing, repairing, and maintaining equipment. May lead other mechanics and technicians, monitoring their work, attendance, start-ups, and set-ups.

Experience Preferred

Minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years. High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience Requirements

4+ years of experience. Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills required. Must have personal tools at all times and be capable of using hand tools and industrial shop equipment. Knowledge of math related to maintenance activities is essential for performing repairs, verifying dimensions, and troubleshooting. Ability to interpret diagrams and ensure parts meet specifications using precision measuring instruments.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

This position is active, involving troubleshooting and redesign of systems on the plant floor. May require moving equipment, accessing files, supplies, and equipment, and moving throughout the facility. Exposure to wet and moist floors, temperatures ranging from 28°F to 100°F, humidity, noise levels from 50 dB to 110 dB, and chemicals used in poultry and food processing. Protective and safety equipment must be worn as required.
