Job Summary
The Project Superintendent is responsible for the daily management of the overall project site including all coordination activities between the various Contractors, Sub-Contractors, Architects and Engineers and their Sub-Consultants, Show / Ride Vendors and the various Park Operating Departments (Operations, Security, Food, Merchandise, etc). This includes pre-planning and execution to ensure the Contractor provides adequate resources to meet Cost, Safety, Quality, and Schedule. Responsible for ensuring that the work installed by the Contractors is per the drawings and specifications, using sound construction practices and high-quality workmanship. This includes ensuring the latest drawings, specifications and Universal’s environmental, occupational health and safety procedures are followed and that the facilities being built are dimensionally accurate. Demand quality from all contractors, subcontractors and vendors while meeting cost and schedule requirements.
Major Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall smooth operation of the job site including cleanliness, order, coordination, efficiency and productivity.
- Continually find solutions to conflicts in structural / architectural / mechanical / electrical drawings and specifications by conferring with the Consultants. Coordinate these solutions with the various sub-trades. Identify contract document conflicts and recommend solutions to the Project Engineer and Project Manager.
- Enforce quality control and monitor the contractor and subcontractor’s schedules. Ensure construction work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design documents.
- Coordinate inspections with consultants and authorities as required
- Schedule, coordinate and lead job site safety meetings.
- Maintain record documents daily, weekly, and monthly reports of contractor, consultant, and owner activities, including significant project events and milestones
- Provide information and interpretation of plans, detail sheets and specifications for contractors and subcontractors.
- Report accurate quantities of on-site labor by trade; accurately monitor material to ensure quantities on site are sufficient to complete the project in the field.
- Ability to check layout work competently, accurately and efficiently.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

Additional Information
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Educational and experience requirements include a two-year education beyond high school or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience and a minimum of five to ten years construction site supervision and layout experience.
- Full working knowledge of surveying techniques, equipment standards and procedures are necessary.
- Must have the ability to read blueprints and develop as-builts.
- Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate with others a must. Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to represent the company and project team professionally to the Contractor, Architect, related project staff and the community.
- Computer skills are required as well as previous experience with Microsoft Office and Meridian Prolog software.
Education
Associate’s degree (AA) in Construction, Engineering, or Architecture or equivalent years of experience.
Experience
Prior experience as a project superintendent with a theme park company. Minimum experience as a project superintendent: 5+ years; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
