Primary Responsibilities
- Cleaning Production/Plant Equipment in wash down rooms.
- Identifying what equipment/electrical needs to be covered for protection.
- Learning the use and providing the proper color coded tools to do the job.
- Report food safety and quality problems to authorized personnel who can act on.
- Perform hand cleaning areas / electrical and walls.
- Use equipment needed for detailed cleaning, taken apart and cleaned (especially in food contact areas) to prevent mold and bacterial buildup.
- Apply correct chemical dilution ratios, as instructed; chemical safety training is a plus but training will be provided.
- Documentation – correctly fill out paperwork where applicable.
- Ensure sanitation materials/tools/chemicals are removed from area, returned to proper place, and disposed of when the area is completed.
- Report to work on time; overtime and weekend work as needed; covers for other Sanitation Technicians in their absence.
- Conduct regular sanitation duties, custodial, office cleaning, and bathroom cleaning as directed by the Sanitation Department Lead.
- Operate a garbage compactor, cardboard baler, and an electrical pallet jack.
- Segregate recycle waste cardboard, plastic, and office paper.
- Maintain the interior and exterior of the facility free of garbage.
- Perform general housekeeping in common areas such as the cafeteria, offices, locker rooms, main aisle, back aisle, and uniform area.
- Training Required: Will receive relevant training to perform daily tasks.
- Reports directly to Sanitation Lead and Tech.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Experience working with industrial chemicals and knowledge of proper waste disposal methods.
- Knowledge of chemical handling PPE.
- Ability to accurately log and record sanitation activities.
- Janitorial and sanitation knowledge a plus.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
- Standing on a concrete floor.
- Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform).
- Bending, stooping, twisting, standing for extended periods, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Required to work weekends during peak season.
