The Production Supervisor works with all aspects of the manufacturing facility. Responsible for coordinating the scheduling of production or shipment of finished goods, hiring new personnel, coordinating with engineering on the timing of new product launches or process improvements. Also responsible for working with the quality department on customer and internal quality complaints/rejects. Must take necessary action to minimize delay time and maximize production.
This is a 3rd Shift position. Hours are Monday-Friday, 10:00 pm – 6:00 am (approximately).
Responsibilities
- Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
- Work to continuously improve in all areas, including lean initiatives.
- Tracks manufacturing cell metrics (efficiency, scrap, perishable tooling, safety, etc.), and reports adverse trends to management on a regular basis.
- Works with other functional areas (engineering, quality assurance and purchasing) to develop and implement work methods and procedures to increase productivity and quality in the shop. Works closely with maintenance personnel to reduce downtime.
- Analyzes production issues and/or clarifies order requirements to increase efficiencies and ensure timely production of parts. Order all raw material for assigned manufacturing cells.
- Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to general manager.
- Provide employee coaching and development.
- Makes employment decisions and conducts annual performance reviews.
- Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
- Must maintain a good attendance record.

What We Need from You
- Associate’s degree from college or technical school plus 2-4 years supervisory experience preferably in a manufacturing setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10\'s and 100\'s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Previous experience as a machine operator preferred.
