Overview

Quality Technician-3rd Shift at Mauser Packaging Solutions. The role performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the manufacture of products in the production area. This position is responsible for the inspection of materials, parts and products at different stages of production, communicates/trains the quality systems to other employees as needed, records observations, and may make recommendations for improving processes.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all Safety and Quality procedures and observes the operations to insure a safe environment.
  • Performs daily quality control inspections, verification checks, and batch record specifications and documentation ensuring “Positive Release” is maintained.
  • Interact with production personnel to ensure quality checks, packaging, and documentation requirements are clearly understood.
  • Effectively perform Event Based Investigations (EBI) and Hold for Inspection (HFI).
  • Provide detailed daily quality download.
  • Escalate issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Write, train and follow procedures.
  • Sends out customer requested samples as needed.
  • As needed, perform incoming inspection of raw materials, COC’s and Dock Audits.
  • Maintain the work area in an organized and professional manner.
  • Know common practices associated with the proper handling of food grade products per GMP requirements, if applicable by site.
  • Responsible for ensuring the compliance of “Food Product Safety” & “Product Quality” of the molded product, to meet the expectation of our customers, if applicable by site.
  • Understands and follows Hazard Materials Regulations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Possesses well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and multi-task environment.
  • Demonstrates organizational skills and is very detail oriented.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work with Microsoft Office Products, Outlook, and other critical computer applications.
  • Ensure a well-developed and positive attitude towards working together as a team.
  • Quality background in the use of measurement equipment and technique.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Quality background in measurement techniques and analysis preferred.

Additional Abilities

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, government manuals, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondences to both internal and external contacts. Ability to speak effectively with customers and coworkers of all departments within the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, volumes, and cost associated with customer orders. Ability to apply concepts of basic math. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: Exposed to moving mechanical parts; capable of productivity in a diverse range of environments; to be able to work in a team setting; ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment, 90 plus degrees.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Quality background in measurement techniques and analysis preferred.
