Location: Villa Rica, GA - West GA CSC

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for accurate receiving, storing, picking, cutting, packaging and shipping of product to meet the company’s OPS metrics in the areas of safety, quality, service/velocity and waste/cost reduction.
  • Operate forklift or other powered material handling equipment (MHE) safely and efficiently.
  • Fill customer orders and deliver them to the correct staging area; ensure completeness and correctness of all orders.
  • Ensure that the quantity, quality, packaging, labeling and addressing of outbound orders matches customer specifications.

Receiving/Inbound Freight

  • Count all products, compare to packing lists, and check shipments for damage.
  • Report shortages, damages and mis-shipments on appropriate forms.
  • Sign for inbound shipments when necessary and unload them safely to proper storage locations.
  • Efficiently and safely stack and store products in appropriate areas.

Order Picking

  • Efficiently pick customer orders for shipment, ensuring the correct quantity and type of product is picked.
  • Assemble orders for shipment as necessary and transport them to correct shipping locations.
  • Stencil, tag, label or mark orders as required.
  • Handle lifting of multiple spools of electrical wire consistently during shifts.

Loading/Outbound Freight

  • Verify quantity, labeling and address with customer order to ensure outbound shipments are complete and correct.
  • Accept signature for outbound shipments as necessary and move product into trailers or containers.

Cutting / Paralleling

  • Load/unload empty wooden reels and reels of electrical wire during shifts; manage payoff and take up of rewinding to customer specifications.
  • String wire from payoff through counter to take-up; package, mark and tag to customer specifications.

Quality

  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage; follow company quality guidelines and report variances.
  • Use ISO Quality System documentation to guide daily quality activities.

Equipment

  • Maintain equipment in a neat and orderly fashion; inspect and perform minor maintenance daily.
  • Operate all equipment safely, in compliance with OSHA and company standards.

Inventory

  • Maintain tight inventory control and security; assist in physical inventories and cycle counts; ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Make key inventory adjustments on a computer.

Other Duties

  • Repack or re-box cases per customer instructions; repair and recoup damaged goods as required.
  • Operate shrink-wrap machine; charge forklift battery; repair pallets; clean trailers and truck bays as requested.
  • Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed.

Communication

  • Coordinate with all functional areas within the service center, especially Customer Service, Transportation and Maintenance.

Environmental/Safety

  • Follow all environmental rules/procedures and minimize environmental impact.
  • Follow safety rules to prevent injuries and maintain safe equipment and conditions; seek safety guidance as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, neat work area and security of the warehouse; report issues to Management.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Normal warehouse conditions; 8-hour shifts; ability to stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch; lift 50-75 pounds as required.
  • Ability to use hands and feet for repetitive movements and operate a forklift as needed.

What You’ll Do

  • Focus on excellent customer service and take pride in every order filled for customers.
  • Operate forklift to load/unload trucks and move material in the warehouse or plant; stage finished products.
  • Enter data using warehouse computer applications; perform duties and projects as assigned safely and productively.

What You’ll Need

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year experience operating a forklift
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment; basic computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, Data Entry); SAP desirable
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours; lift up to 75 pounds with or without accommodation
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations; extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift
