In this role, some of your main responsibilities will be moving material with a stand-up forklift, pallet jack and other equipment to appropriate areas as needed. Deliver high quality cores, correctly marked and sized, to the appropriate machine.
How you'll help the formula:
- Uphold company safety, environmental and quality standards.
- Determine from Material Orders at each machine the material and cores required and when and deliver to those machines on a timely basis driving a forklift approx. 95% of the shift.
- Cut high quality, correctly sized cores. Core mark as needed.
- Work safely with sharp blades.
- Move materials to appropriate areas such as, but not limited to, moving jumbos, packing materials, skids, etc.
- Check coated jumbo racks once per week for accuracy.
- Bring finished goods from the shift to the dock .
- Return raw materials to the warehouse with proper tags.
- Stock the running machines for the next shift.
- Assist operators with changeovers, splicing, and help take rolls off the spoolers and other functions as needed.
- Keep machinery in good working order.
- Perform key inventories including use of SAP.
- Stand and walk a significant part of the scheduled shift. Lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally 85 lbs.; pull up to 3,000 pounds with a pallet jack.
- Follow and give written and oral instructions/communication, and work without close supervision.
- Capable of earning and maintain a forklift license.
- Work in a group concept; self-motivated; and able and willing to be cross-functional.
- Fill extruder racks with resin.
- Wrap and band unsecure pallets in the warehouse (all pallets should be wrapped or banded before putting back in the warehouse)
- Keep work area(s) neat and clean.
- Perform preventive maintenance as needed.
- Train new employees as instructed.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- High school graduate or equivalent work experience with basic math skills, written and oral communication skills as well as mechanical skills.
- Previous machine related experience preferred.
- Requires good hearing and correctable vision.
- Ability to stand up a significant part of the shift; lift up to 50lbs, and occasionally 85lbs, with or without assistance.
- Must be able to work in a group concept environment.
- Must be able to pay attention to details and knowledge of the metric system preferred.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively with others.
- Hours: any as required, including overtime.
- Must be able to work within the framework of 5S, ISO and TS requirements.
