LOCATION: Branch DIVISION: SVP-CRO
FUNCTION DESCRIPTION:
Processes a variety of financial transactions and member services in both lobby and drive-up in a timely, accurate, and professional manner while providing exceptional member service. Maintains thorough knowledge of all Credit Union products and services. Evaluates sales opportunities, makes recommendations or offers products and services. Establishes new accounts for potential and existing members. Submits applications, provides support for, and closes loans for members.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Host Branch Manager
Contacts: Credit Union members and their employers, Credit Union officials, Credit Union branches/departments, vendors, and external financial service providers.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: Six months of cash handling experience. One year of sales or customer service experience preferred. Six months or more experience with Bellco or in financial services preferred. Lending experience preferred.
Skills: Ability to interact positively with others both in person, via email, and by phone using strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to perform all teller duties while maintaining a high teller balancing efficiency (85% or higher) consistently.
Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data and update member financial records.
Ability and willingness to identify needs and sell appropriate products and services.
Ability to obtain and perform Notary services.
Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred.
Additional modifications may be made as needed to maintain high service standards.
Equipment used includes: Online computer terminal, calculator, copy machine, fax machine, telephone, teller cash recycler, printer, ATMs, card printing terminals, and security alarms.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides a valuable and enjoyable experience to internal customers and members during interactions. Suggests improvements to processes and technology to enhance the member experience.
- Provides coverage to host and floating hub branches as needed.
- Communicates positively with members in person and by phone.
- Practices Bellco service standards and core values in all interactions.
- Understands and communicates features and benefits of all Bellco products and services. Deepens member relationships by matching products to needs and referring members appropriately.
- Complies with all relevant federal and state regulations, branch procedures, and audit standards.
- Supports corporate and branch goals and current business priorities.
- Uses devices and systems including TELLERphone, Bellco online banking, DNA core system, shared branching network, and web-based systems.
- Demonstrates how members can access and utilize TELLERphone and online banking.
- Opens and maintains personal, estate, and business accounts following established procedures.
- Handles IRA, HSA, and Coverdell account transactions.
- Processes international and domestic wire transfers within guidelines and limits.
- Manages digital appointments and allocates them to staff to ensure timeliness.
- Processes loan applications, adheres to underwriting guidelines, and analyzes credit reports to identify needs and sales opportunities.
- Conducts loan closings and disbursements per procedures.
- Performs non-lending transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, payments, transfers, cash advances, official checks, and savings bond redemptions.
- Maintains and updates accounts for check ordering, debit cards, online banking, research requests, joint/beneficiary/POD info, bill pay, and POA requests.
- Provides notary services and assists with branch balancing and operations.
- Maintains punctual in-person attendance.
Management may modify duties as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical ability to stand for long periods. Hours or location may change to meet business needs. Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required for those driving personal or company vehicles.
