As Guardian Angel celebrates its 20th anniversary, we are growing with the help of our employees and the elder community. Our Gloucester Office is one of our many new locations. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse for part-time work with potential for full-time. Our work brings hope and healing to those in need, right in their homes. The Gloucester Office covers parts of the North Shore (Rockport, Gloucester, Manchester, Essex, Ipswich, Topsfield, Hamilton, Wenham, Beverly).)
Basic Function:
Self-directs home visits to ensure compliance with client assessments and care plans, caregiver placements, and supervision. Advocates for better health through interventions and makes recommendations. Completes required documentation and ensures caregivers follow company protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Create a daily client visit schedule based on needs. Work proactively with office managers to fill schedule gaps due to cancellations.
- Scheduling can be in two ways:
- Block Time – Nurse provides availability for a set period (e.g., 9am-1pm) and is paid for that block. The office fills the schedule, including documentation and travel time.
- Guaranteed Hours – Nurse is paid for 5-8 hours daily and shares responsibility for filling the schedule, typically 4 visits per day within 5 hours, unless visits are distant.
- Complete and submit documentation within 24 business hours.
- Document according to contract and organizational policies.
- Report findings, recommendations, and concerns to the care team.
- Create, review, and update care plans; communicate updates to caregivers.
- Act as liaison among nurses, clients, caregivers, and management.
- Provide education, training, and coaching to caregiving staff during visits.
- Take on routine nursing visits as needed, such as medication fills, BP checks, catheter changes, etc.
- In urgent situations, provide hands-on personal care.
- Follow the dress code outlined for Caregivers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
