Operations Specialist - North Gathering

The operations specialist is responsible for the safe operation of the gathering system and related equipment. Essential duties include assisting with capital projects and day-to-day business relating to the gathering system, assisting on compressor maintenance and related equipment, performing minor repairs with assistance, and pigs pipelines on a regular basis to maintain an efficient operation. The specialist also assists with measurement duties, completes appropriate documentation and paperwork, performs daily checks of compressor stations, and fills out various reports. They take callouts on equipment and compressors, respond in a timely manner, and report all unsafe and environmental issues to the supervisor. The specialist takes care of company vehicle and equipment, oversees contract work, seeks out new ways of doing things, reports all excessive downtime to appropriate people, and helps out in other areas of the business as needed. They also maintain company vehicle appropriately and perform other duties as assigned.

Position requirements include a high school degree or equivalent, general knowledge of compressor stations, gathering system, and processing plant operations, working knowledge of mechanical equipment, and knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids, and high-pressure systems. The specialist should follow company policies, practices, and regulatory requirements. Good verbal and written communication skills, customer orientation, ability to effectively present information, basic math skills, and the ability to make quick and reasonable decisions in sometimes adverse conditions are also required. A valid state operating license with a driving record insurable under company insurance standards is necessary. The physical demands include lifting, pushing, pulling, and holding equipment/tools, climbing and working at various heights, and regularly getting into and out of vehicles and riding over rough roads. The work environment is mostly outdoors, in and around mechanical, industrial, and electrical equipment, and may be subject to work in hazardous conditions including hydrocarbon vapor, adverse weather conditions, and extreme temperatures. Employees must pass a SCBA fit test and screening as a condition of employment.
