Job Title: EVS Technician
Job Description
As an EVS Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of non-occupied patient rooms. Each room requires a deep cleaning process that takes approximately 20-30 minutes. Your duties will include making beds, flipping mattresses, and thoroughly disinfecting the entire room. You will also handle linens by placing them into large, heavy bags to be transported. Cleaning isolation rooms will be part of your responsibilities, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols, and thorough mopping and sanitization.
Responsibilities

Clean non-occupied patient rooms, ensuring deep cleaning and disinfection.

Make beds, flip mattresses, and thoroughly clean entire rooms.

Handle linens by placing them into heavy bags and transporting them appropriately.

Clean isolation rooms following strict safety measures.

Manage and dispose of bloody and dirty trash, as well as soiled linens.
Essential Skills

Strong physical ability, capable of lifting up to 75lbs frequently.

Excellent attendance record and punctuality.

Ability to work required hours and rotating shifts.

Strong communication skills for interaction with patients, nurses, doctors, and team members.

Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to work with difficult individuals.

Capacity to lift 50lbs and push 200lbs.

At least 6 months of experience in hospital or hotel cleaning/housekeeping.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Direct experience in hospitals is preferred.

Being a self-starter is highly valued.

Work Environment
This role is set in a hospital environment where you will often work independently, making self-motivation essential. Adherence to dress code is required, with no facial piercings, tattoos must be covered, and avoiding heavy fragrances. The mid-shift runs from 12 PM to 8:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with rotating weekends.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $15.75 - $18.50/hr.
