Job Description

We have been retained by a privately held, global industry leader in ingredients and flavors to find a talented HR Director for North America! Known for their bold, agile, and passionate culture, this company is deeply committed to both taste and its people. This is a high-impact opportunity to build the U.S. HR function from the ground up, shaping strategy and driving execution across key areas like talent acquisition, compliance, employee engagement, and change management. The role reports directly to the CEO and will serve as a key partner in supporting growth and transformation.

Location: Greater Chicago Area (Hybrid)

Travel: ~25%

Essential Job Functions

• Build and deploy the HR function in a rapidly growing company.
• Manage end-to-end recruitment strategy, including partnering with external recruiters.
• Develop and implement HR policies in alignment with U.S. labor laws and company's global values.
• Design and execute strategies for onboarding, training, employee retention, and workforce planning.
• Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on organizational development and employee relations.
• Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and HRIS implementation.
• Champion a positive company culture, driving initiatives around engagement, diversity, and inclusion.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 1–3 years of direct HR management responsibility.
• Deep knowledge of US Labor Laws, HR compliance, and best practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, scaling environment.
  
  

Base salary range of $100,000 - $140,000 based on years of experience and bonus opportunity based on performance. Other benefits include medical/dental insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, 401(k) plan, paid company holidays, and paid time off. This compensation range reflects the company's expectations for this position at the time of posting. Actual pay will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, alignment with role responsibilities, education, demonstrated skills, and performance during the interview process.
