Job Description posted for North Central Idaho region. The Development Coordinator interacts with the community with a focus in fundraising, events and food drives. This role supports a variety of efforts within a fast-paced development team and requires strong organization, attention to detail, independence, and flexibility. The Development Coordinator works closely under the supervision of the North Central Regional Director to meet fundraising and community engagement goals. Donor stewardship and customer relations are a critical focus area. The Coordinator oversees resource development activities, fundraising initiatives, events, and donor interactions & relations including cultivation, recognition, solicitation and reporting. The Coordinator also facilitates involvement through networking, volunteer and collaborative activities, and other communication channels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build existing and new partnerships, both corporate and individual, throughout the North Central service area to raise critical funds.
  • Actively manage day-to-day relationships with donors and prospects through meetings, phone calls, letters, reports, email, event attendance, timely donor inquiries, and gift acknowledgements.
  • Maintain and develop fundraising campaigns and food drives by corporate and community groups.
  • Coordinate donor and prospect records in Raisers Edge, updating, adding, and maintaining constituents, tracking and reporting actions.
  • Coordinate projects that may include food and fund drives, campaigns, events, and community engagement outreach.
  • Represent The Idaho Foodbank as a key spokesperson at community events and meetings when applicable.
  • Coordinate development activities with Marketing Communication, Volunteer, and Development statewide teams and execute locally as directed.
  • Provide content for e-newsletters and other social media engagement opportunities; serve as local media contact as appropriate.
  • Maintain donor confidentiality and accurate CRM records; generate reports as needed.
  • Support the Regional Director by managing donor and community engagement, fundraising events, and local food drives.
  • Develop strong community relationships to position The Idaho Foodbank as the volunteer organization of choice.
  • Manage the Volunteer Development Ambassador program with guidance from the Regional Director.
  • Conduct Idaho Foodbank warehouse tours and program presentations as needed.
  • Support the Food Rescue Program in the NC area by identifying new donor partner stores and maintaining donor relations in coordination with the IFB team.
  • Provide support to the Volunteer Coordinator by cultivating, recruiting, and recognizing volunteers for the North Central region.
  • Handle weekly deposits of donations and follow cash handling procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Comfortable with gift solicitation, development, and delivery of persuasive presentations; ability to create reports with technical information.
  • Relationship management skills with knowledge of the North Central Idaho area preferred.
  • Preferred experience in fundraising, volunteer management, event coordination, and working with diverse stakeholders.
  • Bachelors degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Data entry and reporting experience with CRMs and inventory software preferred.
  • Creative, entrepreneurial approach to overcoming challenges; able to work independently and as part of a team; willingness to work a varied schedule.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to contribute across functions.
