Headquartered in Carlsbad, CA, with regional offices and project sites nationwide, we're expanding our in-house Engineering Department at our Jacksonville, FL office. As a privately held, full-service design-build firm specializing in fast-track commercial construction for the Department of Defense, RQC provides fully integrated design, engineering, and construction solutions.
We are currently seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead and expand our Electrical Engineering team in Jacksonville, FL. This is a strategic leadership role, responsible for technical excellence, team development, and project oversight across our electrical design engineering group. You'll drive innovation, ensure design quality, and play a key role in shaping the future of our engineering department. This role demands deep expertise in DoD-specific standards, interdisciplinary coordination, and the ability to lead and grow a team dedicated to serving U.S. military clients, all in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership and oversight for all electrical engineering efforts across projects
Mentor and grow a high-performing team of electrical engineers and designers
Collaborate with architectural, structural, and mechanical teams to ensure integrated project delivery
Oversee and improve internal design processes, tools, and QA/QC standards
Serve as a subject matter expert in support of proposals, design reviews, and construction support
Ensure adherence to industry codes, standards, and client requirements
Support business development, proposal efforts, and interviews as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required
P.E. license required
10+ years of electrical design experience, including leadership or management responsibilities
Experience with design-build delivery and multi-disciplinary coordination
Strong knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE, IBC, and California Title 24
Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM processes
LEED AP preferred
Experience with sustainable design and energy code compliance
Prior experience with DoD/Government projects strongly preferred
Excellent communication and leadership skills
