Job Title: The Night Auditor

Job Purpose: The Night Auditor acts as a Guest Service representative and manager on duty during the nighttime hours including safety related functions; performs the audit as set forth by the property. All overnight staff answers to the Night Audit.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Enjoys working overnight.
  2. Ability to multitask and assist in all hotel duties and switch focus.
  3. Stay productive at all times.
  4. Use critical thinking and safety in mind at all times.
  5. Warmly interact with all guests, including in public areas and while completing guest requests and tasks.
  6. Responsible for providing exemplary customer service in a friendly and professional manner.
  7. Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees while providing general safety duties.
  8. Has a full understanding of emergencies procedure and critical thinking.
  9. Promote safety by being alert to observe, correct and report any hazards immediately and in a timely manner.
  10. Greet guests upon arrival/departure, check them in/out and provide them with any information they need to enjoy their stay.
  11. Respond to guest inquiries, concerns and complaints as needed and communicate such in the pass on.
  12. Answer phones and place reservations.
  13. Perform all audit procedures as set forth by the Hotel and company, on a daily basis.
  14. Balance all receipts and work performed during the audit shift.
  15. Prepare the front office for the ‘A’ shift and reset day’s business.
  16. Prepare guest bills for next-day checkouts and process reservation cards.
  17. Verify that all EOD work has been performed by other departments.
  18. Verify the status of all wake-up call requests and ensure they are properly handled.
  19. Write accurate reports and ensure all tasks are completed.
  20. Assist with in-room dining orders.
  21. Assist with cleanliness and organization of Front Desk area.
  22. Assist with other duties as needed and requested.

Job Skills:

  1. Handling objects, products, and computer equipment.
  2. Basic computer skills to operate various property management and reservations systems, etc.
  3. Being passionate about people and service.
  4. Strong communication skills essential when interacting with guests and employees.
  5. Reading and writing abilities are used often when completing paperwork, logging issues/complaints/requests/information updates, etc.
  6. Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating and training abilities are often used.
  7. Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and/or holidays.
