The Night Auditor is responsible for the preparation and disposition of all Night Audit work. Responsible for the front desk operation during the overnight shift (Typically 11pm-7am). Primary responsibilities include: registering guests, making reservations, preparing daily reports, balancing transactions, and conducting security walks.

Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • College coursework in related field helpful.
  • Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of Accounting Principles.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to resolve guest issues and respond to emergencies.
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems, company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to work well under stress and in high-pressure situations.
  • Effective problem-solving skills in the workplace.
  • Ability to assimilate complex information from various sources and adapt as needed.
  • Understanding of financial information and basic arithmetic.
  • Self-management skills.
  • Good listening and clarification skills.
  • Maintaining composure and objectivity under pressure.

Responsibilities include:

  • Approaching all guest and staff interactions in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintaining regular attendance as per hotel standards.
  • Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  • Complying with hotel standards and regulations for safety and efficiency.
  • Completing the End of Day process and all required reports.
  • Balancing daily transactions and maintaining cashiering responsibilities.
  • Operating the Front Office computer system according to standards.
  • Handling guest requests during the overnight shift.
  • Following safety and emergency procedures.
  • Maintaining proper record keeping.
  • Familiarity with hotel policies and house rules.
  • Completing direct bills and managing accounts as required.
  • Maintaining communication with staff via radio.
  • Ensuring security procedures are followed.
  • Preparing daily reports and managing work distribution.
  • Training new Night Auditors as needed.
  • Performing miscellaneous duties as assigned.
