Overview: The Night Auditor is responsible for reconciling hotel cashier transactions, reviewing and preparing management reports, ensuring billing accuracy, and communicating with management. The role also includes guest service duties such as check-in, check-out, switchboard operation, and reservations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Understand and work with financial data and basic arithmetic.
  2. Cross-train in other hotel accounting areas.
  3. Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  4. Perform guest services (check-in/out, reservations, calls).
  5. Audit and reconcile financial reports.
  6. Prepare daily reports (e.g., Daily Operating Report, Tax Reports).
  7. Prepare and distribute month-end reports.
  8. Audit cashier work at Front Desk and Food & Beverage.
  9. Manage credit card transactions promptly.
  10. Ensure accuracy of all reported numbers and statistics.
  11. Update financial data into corporate systems.
  12. Perform routine data processing functions.
  13. Report operational or financial anomalies to management.
  14. Maintain guest satisfaction.
  15. Respond to governmental inquiries.
  16. Handle guest requests.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of hotel or related experience.
  • Guest service experience preferred.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Willingness to work flexible and long hours, including late/overnight shifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Attend all required meetings and training.
  • Maintain high standards of appearance and grooming.
  • Comply with hotel standards and safety regulations.
  • Show initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate proactive guest service.
