Overview
Position Summary: As a pivotal role in our Front Office, the Night Auditor ensures the seamless operation of our hotel during overnight hours. Beyond verifying guest accounts and reconciling revenues, they uphold impeccable guest services and safety. Strong communication and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are crucial for this role.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the overnight operations of the hotel, verify the accuracy of guest accounts, balance charges and revenues, and assist with guest services and safety.
- Reconcile and complete all daily front desk agents’ work.
- Run trial balance to post rooms and close the day.
- Run accounts receivable reports.
- Provide next day reports for Front Office, Housekeeping, Sales, and Executive Office as required.
- Perform duties of a front desk agent as assigned.
- Assist in directing and administering Front Office operations to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
- Handle emergency situations, ensuring the safety and security of guests and associates.
- Maintain safety standards for front office associates in accordance with company policy.
- Provide professional communication with internal and external guests.
- Oversee the VIP guest process including reviewing VIP reservations and ensuring smooth check-in/check-out.
- Assist with up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities to maximize occupancy and revenue.
- Ensure team members are current on hotel products, services, facilities, events, pricing, policies, and local area knowledge.
- Maintain front desk office supplies and equipment and keep front office areas clean and organized.
- Respond to guests’ complaints and questions with exceptional customer service.
- Carry out supervisor requests in accordance with hotel policies and standard operating procedures.
- Follow cleanliness standards to ensure guests’ satisfaction.
- Follow 4 Keys service standards, standard operating procedures, and safety standards.
- Follow all applicable policies and procedures while continually striving to improve standards of operation.
- Follow safety and security procedures.
- Adhere to attendance and reliability standards.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
Skills and Abilities
- Understand the mission, vision, and goals of the hotel.
- Ability to prioritize and work efficiently with limited supervision.
- Effective verbal and written communication in the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Ability to stand and move with a fast pace for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis and push/pull carts and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Capabilities to bend, stoop, squat, stretch, climb, and perform cleaning tasks as needed.
- Strong grasping, writing, listening, and visual acuity abilities; continuous speaking and listening for guest and colleague interactions.
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate with management and colleagues in a professional manner.
Job Qualifications/Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role; hotel experience preferred.
Additional: Flexible scheduling shifts based on business needs.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds frequently to assist guests.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to hear, understand, and communicate orally and in writing with staff, vendors, and guests.
- Ability to bend, twist, push, pull, stoop, and kneel.
- Ascend and descend stairs or ladders as required.
