Position Overview

As a Medical Courier Driver, you will transport medical specimens, supplies, and related items between locations according to customer requests. You will load items into your vehicle, drive to destinations, unload items per company procedures, and maintain items in your possession in a safe and compliant manner.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a personal vehicle to transport medical items including specimens, supplies, and confidential documents.
  • Scan locations and report missing barcodes to the Assistant GM.
  • Maintain 98% or greater accuracy on location scanning along routes.
  • Notify the Assistant GM if route times are unattainable or if customers request changes from the scheduled times.
  • Assist with training new hires when needed.
  • Load and unload medical items from the vehicle and ensure specimens, medicines, equipment, or documents are properly maintained and secured per company requirements.
  • Deliver items to correct destinations in a timely manner according to routing specifications.
  • Interact with customers and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate and legible delivery records and obtain customer signatures where applicable.
  • Communicate with dispatch and management about delays or status changes.
  • Assist Assistant GMs as needed.

Qualifications

  • Drives a personal vehicle adhering to safety and efficiency guidelines.
  • Must be HIPAA and OSHA compliant at all times (training provided).
  • Knowledge of locating customer locations using GPS or maps.
  • Knowledge of basic math; strong reading and comprehension skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage time and complete daily tasks with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation with a good driving record.

Compensation and Schedule

  • Pay Rate: $16.25 per hour
  • Mileage Reimbursement
