Fitness Trainer Job at Acts Retirement-Life Communities in Boca Raton

Overview

Acts Retirement-Life Communities is seeking qualified candidates for the Fitness Trainer position. In this role, you will be responsible for motivating and encouraging participants to reach their full potential in terms of fitness and overall wellbeing. You will assist with coordinating all events of the fitness and recreational programs, including initiating and implementing individual and group exercise programs and recreational programs, maintaining standards of safety, and managing quality improvement by updating programming to stay current with industry trends.

Responsibilities

• Motivate and encourage participants to reach their full potential in fitness and wellbeing.
• Coordinate all events of the fitness and recreational programs.
• Initiate and implement individual and group exercise programs and recreational programs.
• Maintain safety standards and manage quality improvement by updating programming to current industry trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, physical education, allied health sciences, or related human services field
• Minimum two years’ experience in personal training or group fitness instruction within a senior living setting
• Current certification from ACE or ACSM (or enrolled by sixth month of employment and completed within one year of hire)
• Current certification from the Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA), as needed
• Current CPR and AED certifications
• Additional certifications may be required per state laws (e.g., Lifeguard, Pool Operator, First Aid)
