Job Summary

The Group Fitness Instructor is responsible for developing and leading safe, effective, motivating group exercise programs for participants of all levels. These programs may include, but are not limited to, hip hop, Pilates, aerobics, step, strength, Zumba, spinning, yoga, kickboxing, Tai Chi, and water aerobics. The instructor maintains a high level of member satisfaction, ensures all equipment is returned to storage, checks for necessary repairs, and prepares the room for the next class. They support the mission, vision, and values of the employee fitness center and are encouraged to maintain a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in group fitness instruction, with proven ability to develop and lead classes, and knowledge of safety standards.
• Licensure / Certifications: Group Fitness Certification from reputable organizations (e.g., AFAA, Stott Pilates, Yogafit) preferred. CPR and First Aid certifications preferred. Personal Training certification (e.g., ACSM, NSCA, NASM) preferred. Lifeguard Certification required for Aquatics Instructor roles.
