Kalmbach Trucking is seeking a self-motivated individual capable of performing maintenance, diagnostic troubleshooting, and repair services on forklifts and other material handling equipment. The right candidate will ensure safe and efficient operation, including routine inspections, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, replacing parts, and documenting work. Key responsibilities involve maintaining equipment performance, minimizing downtime, working with hydraulic and electrical systems, and following safety protocols and scheduling.

  • Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, cleaning, component checks, safety inspections).
  • Diagnosis & Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using tools and manuals.
  • Repairs: Repair forklift components (engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electric motors, batteries, brakes).
  • Inspections: Conduct regular safety and operational inspections to identify issues and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Parts Management: Manage spare parts inventory and order replacements as needed.
  • Record Keeping: Document all maintenance, repairs, and inspections in the Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Mechanical Expertise: Strong mechanical skills with knowledge of diesel, gas, LP, battery charging and electric systems.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools/software; proficiency in CMMS systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to diagnose complex issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail for accurate diagnosis and quality repairs.
  • Communication: Good communication skills to interact with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy parts and work in various conditions, including unusual shifts if required.
  • Self-motivated: Ability to identify and prioritize the workload.
