NAPA Auto Parts is hiring: Hostler/Forklift Operator in Indianapolis

The Hostler/Forklift operator is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The operator also ensures the safe and efficient operation of the yard mule and manages trailer placement for loading and unloading. This position requires operating a forklift on the dock when not moving trailers and safely handling inbound/outbound shipments.

Responsibilities

1. Quality: Ensure shipments are accurate and undamaged, report variances, and complete hostler paperwork timely each shift.
2. Loading: Move products efficiently into rail cars or trailers.
3. Equipment: Load, unload, move, and stage products using forklifts and other power equipment. Maintain and inspect equipment daily, operating it safely and efficiently.
4. Inventory: Keep accurate records, assist with inventories, and ensure inventory control and security.
5. Safety, Sanitation, Security: Maintain a clean work area, assist in security, promote safety, and comply with OSHA and MSDS standards. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of yard mules each shift.
6. Maintenance: Assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as needed.

Job Requirements

1. Minimum 1 year of recent forklift operating experience.
2. Ability to operate a yard mule.
3. Experience with standup forklifts with suicide knobs is a plus.
