Shipping Forklift Driver Job at Weyerhaeuser in Castleberry

Weyerhaeuser Company is seeking a Shipping Forklift Operator to join our Shipping team at the Evergreen EWP Plant in Castleberry, AL. Our facility primarily produces TJI Joists and Microllam Laminated Veneer Lumber for beam and header applications. Candidates must be committed to safety, possess a positive attitude, demonstrate excellent work ethic, have strong communication skills, and be eager to work in a manufacturing environment.

Note: Must be flexible to work 12-hour shifts, including rotating days and nights.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow safe truck and rail loading procedures during loading and staging.
• Communicate safety and quality expectations effectively with all truck drivers for each shipment.
• Identify and resolve safety risks, quality issues, and shipping problems; report near misses and hazards.
• Engage with truck drivers, pedestrians, and contractors to address safety concerns in the shipping yard.
• Inspect trailers and equipment for safety; perform daily forklift and spot truck inspections.
• Inspect railcars for safety; load and secure cargo properly; report issues.
• Coordinate with Securitas personnel regarding shipments.
• Develop proficiency in SAP and transportation/inventory management software.
• Accurately complete shift paperwork and Bills of Lading.
• Ensure proper inventory transfers and scans; report discrepancies.
• Remove damaged materials for inspection and repair.
• Participate in cycle counts; prioritize aging inventory.
• Support line operations during breaks as needed.
• Wear PPE as required and participate in safety and quality programs.
• Maintain yard housekeeping and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Forklift Training Certificate.
• Knowledge of lockout procedures and PPE use.
• Willingness to work any shift, overtime, weekends, and rotate jobs.
• Desire to learn and advance to Car Loader position.
• Ability to sit, drive forklift, reach, climb, and lift up to 100 lbs.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and positive attitude.
