Forklift Operator/ Loader Job at IPEX by Aliaxis in Asheville

We currently have an exciting career opportunity as a Loader. This role is based in our facility in Asheville, NC, and reports to the Distribution Center Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks in a safe and efficient manner, while ensuring and optimizing safety, quality, productivity and housekeeping standards.

Note: This site has undergone major recovery work following flooding from Hurricane Helene and is still in an active recovery phase. Duties may include assisting in washing PVC pipe and site cleanup as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift equipment safely with precision; perform smaller equipment maintenance tasks and report malfunctions
• Receive and locate product while operating within approved RF processes
• Accurately pick, stack, wrap and stage outbound freight
• Complete work in a prescribed sequence to help meet delivery dates
• Work efficiently to meet production, quality and safety targets
• Load/unload trucks as needed
• Maintain housekeeping standards in accordance with 5S protocols
• Report unsafe work conditions or environment promptly
• Complete cycle counts
• Participate in stock replenishment when needed
• Other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience operating various forklift equipment
• Prior warehouse experience preferred
• Experience with RF scanners and related technology is a plus
• Able to read and write in English
• Team player who can also be self-motivated and independent
• Strong interpersonal skills

Working Conditions

• Good mobility; routine walking, standing for long periods, bending, stooping; ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Work in fluctuating indoor/outdoor temperatures
• Personal protective equipment required (safety shoes, safety glasses and splash shield, gloves, apron, harness, Hi-Vis clothing, etc.)
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced and changing environment
• Meet daily timelines; priorities may be adjusted throughout the day
