Are you a skilled mechanic ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role? We\'re seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Field Forklift Mechanic. This position is based out of our Sugar Grove, IL branch and serves the greater Sugar Grove Metropolitan and surrounding area.

We are looking for individuals who live in the Sugar Grove, IL, or North Chicago, IL areas.

Base pay range

$23.00/hr - $43.00/hr

To be considered for this position, you must have experience as either a diesel mechanic, forklift technician/mechanic, or heavy duty mechanic.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all assigned service jobs with precision and dedication.
  • Collaborate with the Road Lead Mechanic, ensuring effective communication on technical challenges or unusual service problems.
  • Attend service training classes to stay up to date on new products and refresh knowledge on less encountered ones.
  • Submit daily paperwork promptly, including timecards and maintenance reports with customer signatures.
  • Maintain open communication with dispatchers and the service office, updating them on job status and availability for new assignments.
  • Identify jobs that should be sent to our shop for repair, providing valuable recommendations based on complexity or safety reasons.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with territory sales representatives, keeping them informed of potential sales opportunities.
  • Always uphold safety rules and policies, ensuring a secure working environment.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Very good skills in repairing powered industrial equipment.
  • Strong customer orientation with excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Time management expertise to handle multiple priorities.
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with laptop fundamentals.
  • Ownership of necessary tools for repairs, per our recommended tool list.
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Certification to operate material handling equipment.
  • Commitment to the company\'s vision and mission.
  • Physical demands: ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently, up to 75 pounds occasionally, and up to 100 pounds rarely; frequent standing, kneeling, walking, twisting, and operating machinery; defined vision requirements; and effective listening, speaking, and writing skills for customer and service office communication.
