UChicago Career Advancement is looking for a results-oriented, student-focused professional to join our STEM Careers Team!

The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment; is passionate about impacting student careers; thinks strategically about program management; and has a experience in a STEM-related field or role. Candidates with a professional or academic background in the physical sciences are especially encouraged to apply!

The Assistant Director will utilize industry knowledge and program management skills to scale up programming and resources designed to prepare students for successful careers in STEM fields. This team member will organize and execute events, develop impactful pre-professional programs, provide one-on-one advising for students, support the management of outcomes reporting, and collaborate with campus partners.

This position is based on out campus in Hyde Park, Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize industry knowledge and program management skills to scale up programming and resources for STEM career preparation.
  • Organize and execute events; develop impactful pre-professional programs.
  • Provide one-on-one advising for students.
  • Support management of outcomes reporting.
  • Collaborate with campus partners.

Qualifications

Desired Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a physical sciences major or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of professional experience.
  • Experience in program design and delivery; partnership management; project management, customer relations, program administration, etc. is preferred.
  • Exemplary organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to be highly flexible, adaptable, and comfortable shifting priorities on short notice.
  • Demonstrated success in maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
  • High degree of professionalism when interacting with internal and external constituents.
  • Deep commitment to customer service.

Salary Range

$75,000 - $90,000
