Responsibilities

• Check-in with the outgoing CNA at the beginning of your shift to get a report on your patients.
• Conduct hourly rounds on patients, checking vitals, maintaining whiteboard information, and assisting with care as needed.
• Assist patients with ambulation as necessary (e.g., reaching a recliner, walking to the bathroom, walking down the hall). Help released patients safely to their vehicles outside.
• Assist patients with hygiene needs, including full bed baths, assisted bed baths, or retrieving towels and soap for ambulatory patients.
• Assist the bedside nurse with tube insertions (e.g., NG tube, rectal tube, or catheter), provide supplies as needed, and help with cleanup.
• Assist the bedside nurse with wound checks or dressing changes, including handling patients or supplies as needed and cleaning up after.
• Change bed linens, check patients’ weight, and perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Successful completion of the 75-hour state-approved Nursing Assistant course
• Active Nurse Aide (CNA) license in good standing in Nebraska
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association

Pay Range

$17.24 - $24.35 /hour
