The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Responsibilities include assisting with resident care activities to ensure safety, comfort, and personal needs are met, in accordance with policies and the Mission, Vision, and Values of Catholic Health Services of Long Island.

Job Details

• Assist with admission procedures, including reception, preparation, and data collection
• Administer direct resident care, focusing on hygiene, safety, comfort, and skin care
• Prepare residents for meals, assist with feeding, and distribute nourishment and snacks
• Transport residents within the facility and at discharge
• Collect and transport specimens timely
• Respond promptly to call bells and alarms
• Ensure personal alarms are functional per residents' care plans
• Communicate changes in residents' conditions to nurses
• Record vital signs, intake/output, toileting, and other care activities as per policy
• Assist nurses with examinations, treatments, and diagnostic tests
• Apply and release restraints appropriately
• Maintain a safe, clean environment using safety practices

Requirements

• NYS Nursing Assistant Certification in Long Term Care or completion of approved CNA program
• Valid NY State certification
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience preferred; knowledge of safety, infection control, and medical terminology beneficial

Salary Range

USD $23.11 - USD $27.90 per hour. Compensation depends on qualifications, experience, and other factors. Benefits, bonuses, and incentives are additional.
