Seeking a Part-Time In-Home Caregiver in Iowa City and Surrounding Areas
Responsibilities
- Provide personal hygiene assistance to elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries, or accidents, including showering, bathing, dressing, and eating.
- Assist clients with prescribed medications and help with ambulation.
- Support mobility around the house or outside, such as attending doctor’s appointments or taking walks.
- Plan and prepare meals.
- Assist with physical therapy exercises.
- Complete shopping errands or accompany clients to shops.
- Perform housekeeping duties.
- Report any unusual incidents and respond promptly and responsibly in emergencies.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including serving meals and other necessary tasks.
Qualifications
- Enjoy working one-on-one and eager to learn new skills.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and perform related duties.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Compassionate and supportive demeanor.
- Availability to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care.
- Commitment to health and safety standards.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; experience as a Caregiver, CNA, HHA, or completion of CNA program preferred.
- Hoyer Lift experience is a plus.
