Scale AI, Inc. is hiring: Security Engineer, Product Security in New York

We are seeking a highly technical Security Engineer to join our Product Security team. This role is essential for ensuring the security and integrity of our products and services. You will conduct in-depth code reviews, implement security best practices, and influence our security strategy. Your expertise in TypeScript, Python, Kubernetes, CI/CD, SAST, DAST, and terraform orchestration will be crucial for identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities. You will also structure complex problems, diagnose root causes independently, and clearly explain the mechanics and significance of security vulnerabilities, including their exploitability and potential impact.

You will:

1. Conduct in-depth code reviews to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.
2. Evaluate and enhance the security of our product offerings through RFC and service review.
3. Implement and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines.
4. Perform SAST and DAST to identify vulnerabilities in production code.
5. Utilize terraform orchestration for secure infrastructure management.
6. Guide engineering teams to develop robust, long-term security solutions.
7. Explain the mechanics and significance of security vulnerabilities clearly, including their exploitability and impact.
8. Influence the security strategy and advocate for continuous improvement.

Ideally, you'd have:

• Proven experience as a Security Engineer focusing on product security.
• Proficiency in NodeJS, TypeScript, Python, and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of modern Javascript application design.
• Experience with Kubernetes-backed services.
• Hands-on experience with SAST and DAST tools and methodologies.
• Familiarity with terraform for infrastructure management.
• Ability to independently structure complex problems and diagnose root causes, providing actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills to clearly present technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to influence security strategies and drive team improvements.
• Security certifications like CISSP, CEH, OSCP are a plus.
• Experience in senior or lead security roles is preferred.

The base salary range for this full-time position in San Francisco, New York, or Seattle is $172,000—$215,000 USD. Compensation includes base salary, equity, and benefits. The salary range reflects the minimum and maximum for new hires, depending on location, skills, experience, and education. Recruiters will share specific details during hiring. Employees are also granted Stock Options, subject to board approval, along with benefits such as health, dental, vision, retirement, a learning stipend, and PTO. Additional benefits like a commuter stipend may apply.
