Job Description

- Responsible for monitoring the activities of security personnel and completing performance evaluations.
- Investigate safety and security incidents and review incident reports to ensure accuracy and determine if follow up investigations are necessary.
- Inspect equipment and work areas to insure theyre properly maintained and accounted for.
- Prepare reports on inspections and complete facility work orders when maintenance and repairs are needed.
- Respond to requests for security assistance including both service and emergency related calls.Assist protecting patients, visitors, coworkers, volunteers, and MHCC property and/or assets including information.
- Investigate lost, missing, found, and stolen property complaints to insure the proper recording, storage, and disposition.
- Maintain, enforce, and implement policy and procedures as assigned.
- Responsible for department payroll and scheduling to ensure proper staffing levels are met.
- Schedule and conduct training programs and maintain training records.
- Conduct routine patrols of buildings and grounds to detect criminal, illegal, unsafe, and other hospital policy violations.
- Attend environment of care committee meetings as required.
- Maintain professional growth and development through in-services, educational programs, seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations.
- Assist with ID badge requests
- Maintain a working knowledge of Security Department technology and physical security management systems including but not limited to: access control, and CCTV camera and video monitoring systems, and fire alarm system.
- Certified AEGIS instructor.
- Facilitate security department Use of Force training.
- Manage the K-9 Program
- Work closely with Local and State Fire, Police, and Emergency Management Departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned !*!
- 3+ years K-9 Handler experience in a hospital setting
- 3+ years hospital security experience
- Criminal free record
- Valid Michigan drivers license, which meets McLarens Fleet Insurance Underwriting Requirements
- Availability to work assignments as required including off-hours, weekend, and holidays.
Position Summary:
Responsible for the daily operations of the security department and personnel providing a safe and secure environment. These duties include but are not limited to the daily management of workplace violence program, security management program, parking, and valet services programs.Maintain the integrity of the Security Management and Fire Systems. Schedule and conduct training programs as required.

Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, Business or other related or equivalent experience.
Three (3) years of progressive supervisory experience in a hospital environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and policy and procedures manuals.
Knowledge of computer literate and proficiency in the use and application of the common workplace software and hardware.
Strong management, interpersonal and communication skills required.
Demonstrated ability to interact with people at various levels.
Ability to be self-directed.
Ability to be flexible and committed to the team concept.
Demonstrated teamwork, initiative and willingness to learn.
Willingness to instruct others in security practices and procedures.
Ability to be open to new learning experiences.
Ability to take ownership of various projects and assignments
