Overview

Director, Security Foundations at CoreWeave leads the design, implementation, and operation of our enterprise security engineering program, owning infrastructure and network security, application security, and vulnerability management. This leader builds the foundational security architecture and processes that enable CoreWeave to scale securely.

What You’ll Do

Lead the security foundations program for a specialized cloud provider delivering a fast, flexible platform for compute-intensive workloads. Partner with product engineering, infrastructure, and operations to embed security-by-design principles across the organization.

  • Define and execute security strategies that protect CoreWeave’s infrastructure, applications, and internal enterprise environment from evolving threats.
  • Enterprise Security Engineering – secure design, deployment, and operation of corporate and production systems.
  • Infrastructure & Network Security – design and implement robust defenses for cloud, network, and physical infrastructure.
  • Application Security – build secure development practices and tooling into the software lifecycle.
  • Vulnerability Management – lead a continuous program for identifying, prioritizing, and remediating security risks.

You will collaborate closely with product, infrastructure, and operations teams to embed security-by-design principles across the organization.

About The Role

Enterprise Security Engineering

  • Design and maintain security controls across CoreWeave’s enterprise IT and production environments.
  • Architect secure identity, access management, and authentication/authorization systems.
  • Drive adoption of secure configuration baselines, encryption standards, and zero-trust architecture.

Infrastructure & Network Security

  • Oversee security design and monitoring for CoreWeave’s global network and infrastructure.
  • Implement protections against DDoS, network intrusions, and advanced threats targeting large-scale compute environments.
  • Ensure secure connectivity and segmentation between environments.

Application Security

  • Lead the integration of security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Deploy tools for static/dynamic analysis, dependency scanning, and secure code review.
  • Partner with developers to remediate findings and embed security champions into engineering teams.

Vulnerability Management

  • Own vulnerability management across endpoints, cloud infrastructure, and applications.
  • Establish processes for scanning, prioritization, risk assessment, and coordinated remediation.
  • Provide visibility and reporting on vulnerability trends to leadership.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Recruit, develop, and lead a multidisciplinary security engineering team.
  • Define and track KPIs to measure program effectiveness and maturity.
  • Collaborate with other security leaders to ensure comprehensive coverage across detection, response, and prevention.

Who You Are

  • 10+ years in cybersecurity, with 5+ years leading enterprise security engineering programs.
  • Strong background in infrastructure and network security in large-scale, cloud-first environments.
  • Proven track record in application security and secure software development practices.
  • Expertise in vulnerability management, risk assessment, and remediation workflows.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native security architectures and technologies (Kubernetes, container security, cloud IAM).
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, or similar.
  • Excellent leadership and cross-functional communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $206,000 to $303,000. The starting salary depends on knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. Total rewards include a discretionary bonus, equity awards, and a comprehensive benefits program (eligibility-based).
