Security Specialist

xAI is seeking an engaging and professional security champion to support the organization’s safety program. Reporting to the Security Operations Lead, the Security Specialist will respond to security-related incidents on site and operate with heightened security awareness.

This is an in-person role based in Memphis, Tennessee, with minimal travel expected.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an immediate response for on-site security issues, working with site security guards.
  • Perform periodic inspections of data hall equipment and personnel.
  • Support the Security Ops Lead with oversight of on-site security guards.
  • Audit security procedures and recommend process improvements.
  • Document security-related incidents with detailed reports.
  • Participate in drills to maintain emergency readiness.
  • Adapt to various roles within the security team as needed.
  • This role may operate on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of military, law enforcement, or emergency response experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of safety and security procedures.
  • CPR/AED certification.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • CPP, PSP, or similar certifications are a plus.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in relevant fields.
  • Familiarity with access control and video management systems troubleshooting.
  • Experience managing security for large sites or corporate environments is desirable.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
  • Maintain operational security and safeguard sensitive information with integrity.
