Summary of Objective:

The Security Officer will provide a safe and secure environment for our employees, visitors, customers, and their products at PCI.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned.

The Security Officer will be responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and security of assets, personnel, visitors, customers, and customer products. Responsibilities include monitoring parking lots, employee entrances and exits, turnstiles, shift change activities, and safely driving the company vehicle daily. Perform periodic and random security inspections, prepare security reports, issue violation citations, respond to alarms, operate camera systems, conduct rounds, maintain access card inventory, issue badges, escort controlled substances, participate in MERT, activate/deactivate alarms, lock/unlock entrances, assist in policy writing, maintain records, investigate incidents, and provide assistance to staff and visitors. Additionally, mentor and oversee contract security officers under the direction of security management. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Special Demands:

Physical demands include stationary work, movement, operating equipment, and communication, with the ability to move up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. The work environment may involve outdoor weather, mechanical hazards, and moderate noise levels.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Associate's Degree in a related field preferred, or 1-3 years of related experience.
  • Basic mathematical skills and intermediate computer skills.
  • Full professional proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing.
  • High reasoning ability and problem-solving skills.
  • Driver's license.

Preferred:

  • Effective communication skills, problem resolution, professionalism, attention to detail.
  • Completion of a 400-hour law enforcement course, military or police background.
  • Knowledge of security operations, safety practices, and enforcement procedures.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, including in inclement weather and crisis situations.
