Job purpose

Reporting to the Manager of Facilities, the Security Supervisor is responsible for managing the security strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the safety and security of all employees, patients, and facilities. The Supervisor will follow recognized and required guidelines and best practices for safety and security, including reporting and investigating incidents and accidents.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the security team, including working with the contracted security firm to manage contracts, select, train and schedule guards.
  • Ensure security personnel adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Develop, implement, and update security policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Oversee the monitoring of security systems, including surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and access controls.
  • Provide enforcement of parking assignments at all locations.
  • Respond to and manage security incidents, including emergencies, theft, and other safety concerns.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate records of security incidents, investigations, and resolutions.
  • Provide ongoing training for security personnel on best practices, emergency response, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure all staff are trained on security protocols and understand their role in maintaining a secure environment.
  • Communicate regularly with management to provide updates on security operations and any issues that arise.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for security-related concerns or incidents.
  • Develop and manage the security department budget, including staffing, equipment, and other resources.
  • Routinely round at all FHCHC sites to ensure facility safety and maintain a friendly presence with staff at all sites.
  • Submit incident reports to FHCHC’s internal reporting system for all safety and security incidents.
  • Attend weekly Safety Huddles and monthly Environment of Care meetings.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. A combination of education and experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. The successful applicant will have a minimum of three (3) years of related experience in patient safety and security, preferably in an ambulatory care or FQHC setting. Applicants with a background in emergency management and/or a related field of academic study are preferred.
