Overview

The Security Analyst will report to the CIRT (Cyber Incident Response Team) manager and will support GameStop’s global security program by reviewing and responding to alerts. The analyst will address cases from a queue, in order of priority, and, when required, act on threats to mitigate and contain malicious activity. This is a security operations role requiring the ability to review and respond to alerts on a regularly scheduled basis. The role requires after-hours and on-call coverage to support the 24/7 global security program. The position sits onsite in Grapevine, TX, 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond to security incidents and events.
  • Create, manage, and tune alerting rules in multiple platforms.
  • Communicate with business users to investigate and resolve suspicious activities.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and incident response efforts.
  • Resolve basic issues related to the area of expertise as they occur.
  • Complete training in security platforms and response processes.
  • Collaborate with team members across security, IT, and the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 1 year of hands-on experience in a related or technical field.
  • Strong analytical mindset.
  • Ability to work with diverse datasets and tools.
  • Understanding of common threat actor techniques.
  • Troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to quickly learn new technology.
  • Must work well on a highly collaborative team.
  • Communication skills and the ability to translate technical jargon into common language.

Optional Skills and Experience

  • Programming experience in Python.
  • Service desk / help desk experience.
  • System administration experience.
  • Penetration testing or red team experience.
  • Publicly available profiles demonstrating skills and participation in the security community (e.g. GitHub, HackTheBox).
