Requirements

Job Title: Night Operations Manager

Department: Night Operations

Status: Seasonal FT

Reporting To: VP of Mountain Operations

Position Overview

The Night Manager coordinates, monitors, and supports the night skiing operations at Powder Mountain. There is involvement with multiple departments, including but not limited to, Lift Operations, Lift Maintenance, Parking and Transportation, Ski Patrol, Sports and Recreation (Ski School), Guest Services, Heavy Equipment Operations, and Food & Beverage. There is also communication to coordinate between Powder Mountain and agencies relating to incident response and road conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be present and available at Sundown base area during night operations. Circulate to other areas of the resort as needed; Timberline, Hidden Lake, etc.
  • Provide support and direction to guests and staff depending on circumstances; e.g. visitation numbers, weather conditions
  • Communicate with the following on an as needed basis:
  • All Powder Mountain departments associated with Night Operations
  • UTA
  • U-DOT
  • Weber County

Requirements And/or Qualifications

  • Understands and able to facilitate coordinating the basic functions of the Powder Mountain departments operating during Night Operations. Including, but not limited to, Lift Operations, Lift Maintenance, Transportation and Parking, Ski Patrol, Sports and Recreation, Guest Services, Heavy Equipment Operations, and Food & Beverage.
  • Can operate company or personal vehicles to move from one location to another and assist guests as needed
  • Can assess the needs of guests in unanticipated situations; e.g. stuck in the snow, locked out of their vehicle, etc.. Responds appropriately
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to listen to staff concerns and respond appropriately
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements: - Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to:

  • Full range of body movements
  • Reach, push, pull, lift, and carry objects that may be heavy (40+lbs)
  • Walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain
  • Climb/descend stairs/ladders
  • Manual dexterity to operate manual tools and power equipment on an occasional basis

Working Environment

Work is performed inside and outside. Candidate will be exposed to extreme temperatures (hot &cold), sun and wind exposure, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice), high altitudes (9,000ft+), moving machines/equipment, dust, wet, humid, dry, loud noises, and rugged terrain.
