Responsibilities
- Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.

- Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards.

Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
- Effective communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Any retail experience
- Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing)
- Ability to promote trust and respect among associates
- Ability to create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about products
- Knowledge of products sold within the department and ability to respond to questions and make suggestions
- Ability to recommend grocery items and inform customers of grocery specials
- Check product quality, freshness and sell-by dates; take appropriate action
- Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; provide fresh products as ordered
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
- Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and keep temperature logs
- Reinforce safety programs by following safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions
- Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting needed repairs
- Notify management of accidents, safety risks or illegal activity
