Senior Product Manager, Protocol
Partners In Performance International Pty Ltd, San Francisco, California, United States, 94199
Overview Story is a purpose-built Layer 1 blockchain designed specifically for intellectual property. With Story, creators can register IP on-chain and set usage terms in seconds—dramatically lowering the barrier of today's complex and antiquated IP legal systems.
Ready to make your application Please do read through the description at least once before clicking on Apply. For example, instead of requiring lawyers and months of negotiation, you could enforce terms like "you owe me 50% of commercial revenue if you use my IP" through the protocol itself. By making IP programmable, Story transforms intellectual property into a transparent, decentralized, global repository—where AI agents, developers, and humans alike can transact, license, and monetize IP with a simple API call. In February 2025, we launched the Story mainnet, and our native $IP token is now listed on major global exchanges. As we build out the next era of programmable IP infrastructure, we\'re looking for a Senior Product Manager to drive protocol innovation and ecosystem adoption. The Role As Senior Product Manager for Blockchain & Protocol, you\'ll own the product strategy, roadmap, and execution for our core Layer 1, proof-of-concept protocols, and developer-facing APIs / SDKs. This is a highly technical role at the intersection of cryptography, distributed systems, and developer experience. You\'ll work closely with executive team, researchers, engineers, and the global ecosystem to ship new cryptographic primitives, scalability features, and developer-first infra—while ensuring Story remains secure, performant, and aligned with broader blockchain trends. What You\'ll Do
Define and own the roadmap and execution plan of blockchain, protocol & infra roadmap across consensus, execution, smart contract, and developer surfaces. Ship cryptographic and protocol features and releases (e.g., DKG, ZK integrations, rollup, scaling solutions). Improve security, upgradeability, performance, decentralization of the core infrastructure. Lead both internal and external cross-functional communication with researchers, engineers, ecosystem partners, and open-source communities. Align Story with external roadmaps (Ethereum, Cosmos, Rollup, DA / storage trends). Who You Are
Hold a Bachelor\'s, Master\'s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field from a top university. 5+ years of product management experience in infrastructure or platform products, with at least 2+ years in blockchain (L1 / L2, smart contracts). Deep technical fluency in blockchain, cryptography, and smart contract standards. Proven ability to lead complex, technical, cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution. Exceptional communicator, able to engage effectively with executives, engineering leadership, design, ecosystem partners, and the open-source community. Highly self-driven, with a passion for blockchain technology and accelerating ecosystem adoption. Nice to Have
Hands-on experience in the Ethereum or Cosmos ecosystems. Prior work on L1 / L2 protocols, smart contract platforms, or infrastructure services. Compensation: $200,000 - $260,000 a year
