Overview The Illinois Attorney General’s Office ensures that federal agencies and officials comply with constitutional and statutory obligations and that federal actions do not unlawfully impinge on Illinois laws, residents, or the state of Illinois. The Office focuses on federal actions, laws, and regulations that impact immigrants’ rights, LGBTQ rights, workers’ rights, climate change, reproductive health, healthcare and public health, economic equity, racial equity, and discrimination, among other issues. Responsibilities

Stand up against affronts to federal laws and regulations important to Illinois residents and join and lead litigation teams protecting the rights of Illinoisians. May participate in litigation before state, federal, and appellate courts, as well as administrative agencies. Evaluate potential and pending civil litigation, develop legal arguments and strategies, and collaborate with stakeholders to advance these efforts. Monitor legal and regulatory changes for their impact on Illinoisians and provide advice on complex or novel federal litigation with limited supervision. Qualifications

Licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois. At least ten years of post-J.D. legal experience (candidates with significantly more experience are welcome). Excellent research and writing skills; strong analytical, communication, and organizational abilities. Demonstrated commitment to public service and experience enforcing state and federal administrative and civil rights laws and in constitutional litigation. Ability to work independently and interact with a diverse group of colleagues and stakeholders. Fellowship & Benefits The position is a fellowship sponsored by the Progressive State Leaders Committee (PSLC). PSLC advances solutions to emerging legal and policy issues on both the federal and state levels, focusing on how state attorneys general and other decision-makers can promote innovative and progressive policies grounded in the rule of law. The fellowship is a one-year position and is expected to be extended for at least an additional year, contingent on funding. PSLC pays for the AAG’s salary and benefits, including health, dental, and vision benefits. Salary:
