Engineering Manager, Ads Infra

You will be a technical, hands-on Engineering Manager responsible for building and scaling our ads platform across the Discord stack, leading a team of engineers working on targeting, delivery, and measurement solutions. You will partner with Product to define and execute long-term strategy and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize work, guide technical direction, and contribute to code when needed.

Work with Product, Design, Business Development and Marketing to drive your team’s vision and roadmap Lead a team of engaged engineers by hiring, coaching, and instilling best practices Instill a culture that drives impactful results and delights the end user Use your technical expertise to make appropriate tradeoffs and ensure scalable technical solutions and high-quality products Make sound first-principle decisions around resourcing and communicate the rationale clearly to partners and team members Partner with your org leader on strategic planning and to improve the Engineering organization and uphold our workplace philosophy What You Should Have
5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager Collaborates with product managers, designers, data scientists, and other engineers to define solutions to business problems Delivers a delightful experience for end users, stakeholders and teammates Motivated to help teammates succeed and has experience growing engineers Strong coding background and willingness to code when needed Bonus Points
Understanding of the gaming industry Prior experience with ad tech (tooling, measurement and targeting) Track record of driving measurable impact through experimentation and data-driven decision making Being a Discord user with understanding of core features and workflows Additional information:
Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties). Relocation assistance may be available. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000 - $279,000 plus equity and benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role and level; individual pay depends on skills, experience, and education. Compensation details reflect base salary and do not include equity or benefits.
