Chief Manufacturing/Operations Officer - NJ We're exclusively partnered with a leading pharmaceutical company seeking a highly experienced Chief Manufacturing & Technical Officer to lead manufacturing and operations specializing in generic products. This individual will drive API manufacturing operations, ensuring supply for both clinical development and commercial markets, and support the company’s goal of securing five ANDA approvals this year. Key Responsibilities
Provide executive leadership and oversight for manufacturing, operations, and technical functions, ensuring robust API production capabilities Lead the end-to-end clinical and commercial supply chain, from development through to market launch Partner with regulatory, quality, and R&D teams to ensure compliance with global standards (FDA, EMA, ICH) Drive continuous improvement, cost optimization, and efficiency across manufacturing and operations Oversee technology transfer, scale-up, and process validation to enable timely commercialization of pipeline products Build and mentor a high-performing technical and operations team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, contributing to strategic growth initiatives and long-term planning Qualifications
Advanced degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or related field 15–20 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with a strong background in generic drug development and API production Proven track record of successfully leading operations through NDA approvals and product commercialization Prior experience in an executive leadership role strongly preferred, with demonstrated executive presence and ability to influence at the highest levels Deep understanding of regulatory expectations, cGMP, and global quality standards Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams Willingness to maintain an onsite presence in New Jersey and travel domestically/internationally as required Location New Jersey (onsite presence required, with flexibility for travel as needed) How to Apply Apply today or reach out directly to rbanton@barringtonjames.com
