Position Overview
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients during both routine visits and life-impacting health decisions. This role involves drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and creating an atmosphere of trust and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor
- Maintain a safe and professional environment at all times
- Confidently conduct forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing
- Maintain required records and documentation
- Readily explain procedures to patients while ensuring confidentiality and accuracy
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public
- Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime
- Strong customer service background preferred (retail or service environment)
- Keyboard/data entry experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
- Minimum 6 months experience required
- One or more years phlebotomy experience preferred
- Must list home city and commute time to jobsite on resume; rate is based on direct years of experience (overlapping roles do not count twice)
- Candidate must have reliable transportation (bus, Uber, rideshare not accepted)
- Must be available to work all scheduled shifts, be on time, and remain for full shift
- Excessive absenteeism/tardiness will result in termination
- Candidates must live within a 20-25 minute commute to ensure reliable coverage
