About the role

Reworld is seeking an Equipment Operator to join our team. This role supports safe and efficient transfer station operations by maintaining the yard and building exterior, assisting with traffic control, and gaining proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, and skid steers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate or train to operate site equipment: loader (tipping floor consolidation), excavator with grapple (loading outbound trucks), forklift (material handling), and skid steer (yard maintenance) - Maintain exterior of the facility: snow removal, litter collection, painting, and general upkeep
• Assist with traffic control for incoming and outgoing trucks
• Support mechanics during equipment maintenance and repairs
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Transfer Station Manager

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of heavy equipment experience in an OSHA-regulated environment
• Valid driver's license
• Massachusetts 2A Hydraulics License required
• Willingness and ability to learn multiple types of equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic tool skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including kneeling, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round in various weather conditions
