Job Summary
Provides customer service, performs all duties related to accounting which include accounts payable and/or accounts receivable, refunds, encumbering and disbursing funds for college expenses, cashiering duties, cash handling, and communicates with the general public. Performs other job-related duties relative to the area of responsibility.
Job Duties
- Compiles and prepares data for accounts receivable billing; ensures accuracy of data for billing purposes.
- Assists vendors, departments, employees, and students by providing requested information or materials.
- Receives, sorts, and processes invoices and billings; maintains vendor information in the host system.
- Provides competent, professional, and quality service; maintains confidentiality of information and adheres to FERPA guidelines.
- Processes computer-generated reports as necessary and reviews for accuracy.
- Performs general clerical duties including word processing, maintaining files and records.
- Inputs documents into computerized accounting programs and processes computer output.
- Prepares quarterly president's expense report.
- Monitors, balances, and reconciles vendor accounts.
- Prepares various tax returns including 1099 reports.
- Maintains office and forms inventories; provides training to faculty and staff on accounts payable processes.
- Custodian of Business Office Pro-Card.
- Reconciles monthly transactions; maintains the physical plant utility expense spreadsheet.
- Receipting of purchase orders for Konica Minolta and Shred-it; reconciles/audits travel expense claims.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Must be committed to a positive customer service philosophy.
- Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet.
- Knowledge of financial record keeping and reporting principles and procedures.
- Knowledge of modern office procedures, methods, and equipment.
- Basic math and alphabetizing skills.
- Ability to use own initiative, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
- Detail oriented.
Pay Rate & Benefits
Pay Rate: $38,206 - $45,847 annual salary depending on experience.
