About The Position We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in North Carolina. Starting on Oct 13, 2025, this autonomous role features a rotating schedule with 12-hour weekday shifts and 8-hour weekend shifts. The assignment involves working alongside a medical assistant and front desk staff, seeing 40 patients per shift in a dynamic urgent care setting. Job Details Location: North Carolina Start Date: Oct 13, 2025 LOA: 120 days Provider Type Needed: Urgent Care Physician Assistant Schedule: 8am-8pm weekdays, 8am-4pm weekends; 36/40 rotation week: most commonly week 1 Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and week 2 Monday, Thursday, Friday Responsibilities and Duties Work autonomously to assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting to urgent care Manage a high patient volume, seeing 40 patients per shift Collaborate with a medical assistant and front desk staff to ensure efficient patient flow Perform required procedures and interventions within scope of practice Document all patient encounters using Epic EMR Maintain compliance with all clinical protocols and standards Additional Information Must have at least 1 year of urgent care or emergency room experience New graduates will not be considered Must be DOT certified or able to obtain certification independently Basic Life Support (BLS) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certifications required Valid North Carolina PA license required Ability to work autonomously is essential Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
