Location: Michael Foods, Inc. located in Lenox, Iowa. The Lenox area offers small town living with access to Des Moines, Omaha, and Kansas City within reach, and features local recreation, farming culture, and a family-friendly environment.

Responsibilities

Position Summary: Focus on ensuring health and food safety daily.

  • Focus: Ensuring health and food safety daily.
  • Responsibilities: Understanding and applying GMPs, SSOPs, plant policies, and procedures.
  • Safety: Complying with safety work rules and reinforcing safety as a core value.
  • Food Safety & Quality: Ensuring all policies and procedures related to food safety and quality are followed uniformly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and Sanitizing: Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble production equipment; clean production work areas using various sanitation equipment.
  • Setup Assistance: Help with the setup and start of designated production equipment.
  • COP Procedures: Assist in Clean Out of Place procedures.
  • Paperwork: Complete necessary paperwork.
  • Production Support: Assist in production jobs as needed.
  • Teamwork: Be a team member.
  • Safety: Ensure a safe and healthy workplace, adhere to safety policies, and incorporate safety in all tasks.
  • Quality Practices: Follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions, ensure product quality, and report any adverse conditions affecting food safety and quality.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulations at all times.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • No prior experience or training required.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read simple words and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with tens and hundreds.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money, weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations.

Licenses, Certificates, Registrations

  • Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification.
  • Driver’s license.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Follow GMPs, safety regulations, and sanitation procedures.
  • Basic mechanical skills for disassembling and reassembling production equipment.
  • Ability to learn Confined Space Entry procedures and Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO).
  • Adhere to chemical safety training.
  • Strong attention to detail when reassembling equipment.
  • Ability to work indoors in a damp environment.
  • Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Good writing, verbal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. safely.
  • Ability to achieve PIT certification.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience to perform essential duties.
  • Ability to operate specific equipment or tools.
